We are delighted to invite you to the 2017 Oceania Tobacco Control Conference to be held in Hobart Tasmania on the 17-19 October 2017.

The theme of the conference is “From vision to reality: A tobacco-free Oceania”. With smoking rates still significantly high in a number of regions within Oceania, we must not lose sight and focus on the large number of negative health, social and economic impacts on individuals and communities related to tobacco smoking. In Oceania we truly believe that our vision is not aspirational but must be an achievable reality.

We are excited to have the conference in our wonderful city of Hobart. We hope that the photo taken from the top of Mt Wellington gives you a taster of our beautiful state. The conference will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor overlooking the magnificent Derwent River and harbour. If you have not been to Hobart or Tasmania before, now is a wonderful opportunity to meet with your peers, national and international speakers at what we hope will be a provocative conference in a thought provoking environment.

The previous Oceania Tobacco Control Conference was in Perth in 2015. There were some great speakers, exciting content and open debates. We want to leverage off that discussion and work on how together we can achieve our objective to be a tobacco-free Oceania.

On a social note, we invite you to experience a “Taste of Tasmania” at our Conference Dinner on Hobart’s waterfront on the Wednesday night.  We look forward to showing you some local Tassie hospitality.

We look forward to welcoming you to Hobart Tasmania in 2017.
